Open Range Gravel Race is the ONLY 200 km race through the scenic and rugged Gypsum (Gyp) Hills of Southern Kansas. The course will provide racers with flat sand-packed roads, red dirt hills, and winding gravel roads on one of the most diverse courses in the state. The Gyp Hills are one of the "8 Wonders of Kansas Geography." Bicycling Magazine named the Gyp Hills as the most beautiful bicycle ride in Kansas.
The Open Range 200k course will start and end in Pratt, Kansas. Support stops at Sun City and Medicine Lodge. We will provide water and Hammer Heed electrolytes. There may also be light snacks, but don't rely on this for your nutritional needs.
The Open Range 100k is a non-competitive race for those looking for a shorter challenge and will have a support stop only in Sun City.
With 4500' of climbing and the potential for a strong Kansas Wind, Open Range 200k will challenge all levels of riders.
